Internet Explorer 7 Released !!

Just received the mail from Jim Allchin,

Internet Explorer 7 for Windows XP is ready!   Today we are making the English version available as a free download.   Other languages will be available in the coming weeks.   To help our customers become more secure and up-to-date, we will begin distributing Internet Explorer 7 as a high-priority update via Automatic Updates in November.  In addition, Internet Explorer 7 (with protected mode capability) will ship in Windows Vista in 35 languages.

Internet Explorer 7 incorporates major advances like a streamlined interface, tabbed browsing, printing enhancements, RSS feeds, instant search capabilities, improved security, and much more.   We will offer free customer support for consumers.

Over the next six months, we expect millions of customers to upgrade to the new browser for a safer and easier online experience.

Download and install Internet Explorer 7 for any machines you that are not running Windows Vista on already (hint, hint).

Here are what some people are saying…

“If you've never used anything but Internet Explorer, you won't be able to wipe the grin off your face.”

                David Pogue, NY Times

“IE7 is a monumental improvement over IE6 in both security and functionality. [It] is a solid, feature-packed browser that all IE users should flock to immediately.”

                Paul Thurrott, Windows IT Pro

“I’ve spent the past few days looking at this build of IE7 and can recommend it enthusiastically.”

                Ed Bott, ZDNet.com

Congratulations to the Internet Explorer team!
