Microsoft delays final release of Windows Media Player 11

Microsoft had initially said that the release version of their latest incarnation of Media Player, version 11, would be available for Windows XP SP2 users to download on Tuesday. But yesterday, the company admitted that the media player still had some bugs to work out and the final release would be set back for "a few additional days."

The player, which is available as a separate download for Windows XP SP2 and is bundled with Windows Vista, has many new features such as the integration with the MTV URGE music download service. Beta versions were first made available to the public back in May.

Personally, I think it's better to wait a bit longer before releasing WMP 11. The version I tried that came with Windows Vista RC1 had some annoying bugs, like video got hung in between and processor usage was around 100%.
