Users who uses both Google Talk and Orkut, good news for you people !!

How do I link my Google Talk and orkut accounts? |
| | Enabling the integration between orkut and Google Talk opens up a host of new functionality in both products. From orkut, you'll be able to chat or make voice calls, and your friends' online status will be displayed. Google Talk accounts will have additional functions including the ability to send scraps from the Google Talk client, view your friends' profiles, and receive notification of new scraps.
To enable these features: - Log in to your orkut account at http://www.orkut.com .
- From the Google Talk promotion on your homepage, click Start here.
- If you have an existing Gmail account or Google Talk username associated with your Google Account, skip to the next step. Otherwise, enter your desired username and click Check availability! If your username has already been taken, enter another username and try again, or select one of the suggestions from the list. Once you're happy with your choice, click Continue.
- Choose to import all orkut friends into your Google Talk Friends list, or only some. By choosing which friends you want to chat with, you also control who is able to see your online status in orkut and in Google Talk (online status is set by the Google Talk client.)
- Click Download Google Talk.
If you'd like help installing the Google Talk client, please read our quick Installation Guide. | Though, I dint get the above process to working.. So, this is what I did.. - Login in Orkut.com
- Go to Home Page, from there you can open your Settings page
- On the page having "My Settings" as title, you might see the link "Google Talk Settings", click there.
- There you can see two options to enable the Orkut + Google Talk Integration, select as per your preference.
- Do the save settings.
- If you are already logged in into Google Talk, logout and then login again so that it gets the fresh data from server !!!
And thats it, you will now, be able to receive the scrap notification or even write the scrap from Google Talk itself !!! Google, great going !! Isn't it? |
